DECEMBER 2 HOLIDAY PARADE AND PARTY
It’s Time for the Holiday Party!
All current band and guard students and parents are invited to partake in the fun and festivities! The Holiday Party will be held in the Clear Springs cafeteria after the Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 2 about 7:30 PM.
Schedule:
Saturday, December 2nd
4:00 PM – Meet at Band Hall
4:45 PM – Depart for parade assembly area
6:00 PM – Parade begins
7:30 PM – Holiday Party
FOR THE PARADE, students wear jeans, athletic shoes, Santa hats (red only), elf ears, holiday lights, etc. Instruments are decorated in mini lights. Woodwinds wear green shirts, brass wears red, and percussion wears white. Color guard gets together and decides what theme they want to be. One year they were reindeer.
THE HOLIDAY PARTY will include many different activities including:
- Ugly Sweater Contest
- Decorating Gingerbread Men
- Holiday games
- Sing-a-longs (maybe even a little Karaoke)
- The ever popular Toilet Paper Snowman Challenge!
- Also, for the seniors, there will be a White Elephant gift exchange. If you are a senior, be sure to bring a gift for the exchange, the price limit will be $10 for the gifts.
- The other grade levels will have an optional gift exchange. If a student would like to participate, just bring a unisex item, value $5, wrapped. We’ll play a fun game to exchange gifts.
- NEW this year!!! A contest between sections to collect items for those in need:
~non-perishable food
~new socks
~toiletries
~new toys
A little help is needed to make the Holiday Party a success. Would you be interested in donating a few needed items, giving your time at the party or maybe both? If you can help out please sign up on Charms or email Tracy Harris at tracydharris@gmail.com. Please have your student place the following donations in the supply closet by December 1.
Items needed for the party:
- Gingerbread Man Cookies
- Gingerbread Man cookie decorating supplies (cookie icing, sandwich bags, gumdrops, mini M&Ms, Skittles, etc)
- Soda (2 ltr) – 6 Sprite, 6 Coke, 6 Dr. Pepper, 2 Diet Coke, 2 Root Beer
- Desserts – homemade are the best 😉
- Holiday wrapping supplies (paper, ribbon, bows, shirt boxes, tape) – new or from your collection
- Photo booth props* – Santa hats, holiday hats, ski hats, scarves, tinsel, lights, frames, glasses, signs, etc
- 12 rolls of toilet paper
- Sharpie oil-based paint pens
- Hot Cocoa
- Marshmallows
- Holiday decorations* – lights, tinsel, trees
- Santa/Mrs. Claus outfit*
*Anything with an (*) please consider loaning it for the party. Just mark it with your name and number and it will be returned to you.*
